Sand Beach
A superb, sheltered, sandy beach with the pinnacle of Goskar rock sticking out of the sand in the middle. This is one of the most photographed views in Wales with the harbour at the western end. An enclosed, east facing beach, it's a real sun trap even on windy days. Dog restrictions apply to the whole beach from 1st May to 30th September.
Awards: Seaside Award (Resort) 2012 and Blue Flag Beach 2012.
Parking: North Beach car park is the closest but fills up quickly in summer. If you arrive after 10am during the school summer holidays, head straight for the park and ride and use the free shuttle bus.
Beach facilities: Slipway. Boat hire. Deck chairs. Lifeguard from the end of June to the end of September.
On shore facilities: Toilets, tourist information centre, museums & galleries. Numerous cafes, pubs and restaurants. Many interesting shops and a good choice of hotels, caravan parks, B&Bs and self catering.
